Number of parking tickets issued in Lichfield up by 57 per cent

Published:

The number of parking tickets handed out in Lichfield has risen by more than 57 per cent.

A new report has revealed that between April 1 and September 30 this year, 4,116 tickets were issued by APCOA wardens – an increase of 57.1 per cent on the same period in 2012.

However, figures also show that 893 tickets were cancelled after being issued, 297 of which because drivers had put their ticket face down in their vehicles.

Despite the cancellations, the extra tickets issued helped to bring in £42,675 in revenue, compared to £30,143 in the previous year.

But the parking enforcement service still runs at a deficit with a forecasted loss of £14,200 predicted for the year.

The full report can be viewed on Lichfield District Council’s website.
