Pampering sessions and a special purple afternoon tea were the highlights of an event at a home near Lichfield.
More than 60 people took part in the Dignity Day activities at Hoar Cross Nursing Home, which also included entertainment and the opportunity to leave comments on a special ‘dignity tree’ that will take pride of place at the home.
Everyone was encouraged to wear something purple and each resident was given either daffodils or a potted daffodil bulb by Hortihealth UK.
General manager Kathy Cleaver said: “We firmly believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity and this is a fundamental part of the personal care we offer.
“Our Dignity Day gives us the chance to recognise this and also gives our residents and their families the chance to explain what it means to them.
“The entertainment and pampering sessions were well received and there were some really interesting comments placed on the Dignity tree. It just goes to show how important it is to everyone.”
