A Bunrtwood churchyard has been improved as part of a community payback project.
The scheme is seeing offenders carry out the unpaid work on the St John’s Community Church grounds.
Reverend Duncan Leake said: “We’re really pleased with the work the team is carrying out.
“I am sure that many people will be appreciative of the work that is being done, and we hope it encourages those taking part in Community Payback to realise that they can make a difference for the better.”
The team have been cutting back overgrown footpaths and trimming hedgerows. They will also be painting the gates.
Councillor Val Richards added: “Schemes like this one are really beneficial, both for the local community and for the people doing the work.
“It’s great to see the churchyard looking smarter and I hope the workers take pride in what they are achieving.”
