Organisers of the Burntwood in Bloom competition are hoping that the wet weather won’t wipe out the event.
The number of entries so far are down, but Burntwood Town Council are hoping that green-fingered locals will be keen to show off their gardens once more when the sun comes out.
A spokesperson for Burntwood Town Council said: “We know there are many beautiful gardens, hanging baskets and troughs in the town and we really want to encourage as many people as possible to enter the competition.
“There are prizes and trophies to be won so why not give it a go?”
The closing date for entries is July 1. Entry forms can be collected from the Town Council’s office – Unit 1, Lambourne House, Bridge Cross Road, Burntwood, WS7 2BX – or downloaded from www.burntwood-tc.gov.uk.
