LICHFIELD Cathedral will provide the backdrop for a performance by an organist who provided the soundtrack for a hit movie.

Roger Sayer will perform music from Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar on 8th May.

The cathedral’s Hill Organ will give the audience a rare opportunity to experience the cinematic score performed live by the artist who helped create it as the film approaches its tenth anniversary.

Interstellar went on to earn five Academy Award nominations, with Hans describing Roger as:

“Without exaggeration, an extraordinary artist whose humanity shines in the impeccable artistry that flows from his hands.”

The evening will open with three movements from Gustav Holst’s The Planets and culminate in Roger Sayer’s own concert version of Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar score.

The concert will raise funds for Lichfield Cathedral. Tickets start at £15. For booking details, visit www.lichfield-cathedral.org.
