Would-be wordsmiths are being asked to wax lyrical about Beacon Park.
Lichfield District Council is marking World Poetry Day by asking people to put pen to paper about the city park.
The competition will feature three categories:
- 10 and under
- 11 to 17
- 18 and over
The best poems will feature in a Poetry in the Park trail on March 21.
Councillor Andy Smith, Cabinet member for parks at Lichfield District Council, said: “From the beautiful gardens to the statues and woodland, Beacon Park has so much material to inspire poets of all ages.
“We’re really looking forward to reading the poems, so make sure you visit Beacon Park soon and get started.”
To submit a poem email parks@lichfielddc.gov.uk by March 14.
