Staffordshire County Council has drawn up plans to prevent vehicles stopping on parts of Vulcan Road, Eastern Avenue, Beaconfield, Lillington Close, Swinfen Broun Road and Seckham Road.

Gaia Lane would also see its no waiting restrictions lengthened to stretch more than 350 metres from the junction with Beacon Street.

The county council says the changes are being planned after complaints from councillors and residents about “inappropriate parking”.

“These proposals aim to introduce parking restrictions to prevent vehicles causing obstructions and causing potential hazards,” a statement said.

The changes to waiting restrictions will be discussed by members of Lichfield City Council at a planning committee meeting on Thursday (February 23).
