POLICE say a body has been found near Weeford following a search for a 15-year-old girl.
The teenager had been reported missing from Tamworth yesterday (6th May).
Officers were completing searches when a girl fell from a bridge over the A5 at 10.10pm.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:
“We can sadly confirm that a body has been found in the search for missing 15-year-old Madison, from Tamworth.
“Officers and paramedics treated her at the scene, but she sadly died a short while later.
“We are not treating the death as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
“Madison’s family have been informed and are being supported at this incredibly difficult time.
“A referral is being made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) given the previous police contact with her.”
