Police are hoping Lichfield train passengers can help trace a man who they want to speak to after a member of rail staff was racially abused.
Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of the person they want to speak to over the incident on platform ten of Birmingham New Street railway station at around 8pm on October 13.
Investigating officer PC Mark Murphy said: “A 31-year-old male member of rail staff had attempted to intervene in a domestic dispute involving a couple at the request of the female involved.
“The male involved in the dispute then turned to face the member of staff and racially abused him, swore repeatedly at him and threatened to throw him onto the railway tracks.
“Although the member of staff did not suffer any physical harm, he felt threatened and alarmed by the man’s behaviour.
“Members of rail staff should be able to go about their duties without suffering abuse or aggression from passengers.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the man responsible and after viewing CCTV from the station, I would like to identify and speak to the man in this photograph as I believe he will have information which can assist the investigation.”
