Around 100 boy racers have been moved after a crackdown in Lichfield and Burntwood.
Officers took action on Sunday (February 23) after reports of young drivers gathering on car parks and travelling at high speeds in the area on Sunday evenings.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “Local residents have told us they have been disturbed by the noise and have said they are concerned by the speed of the some of the drivers.
“We have been regularly patrolling the areas where the drivers gather on a Sunday evening to encourage them to move on and to deal with anyone who may be breaking the law.”
Among the areas being used by boy racers are Birmingham Road, Fradley Industrial Estate, Wall Island, and the Chasetown and Rugeley bypasses.
“We’re determined to make sure local residents can enjoy a quiet Sunday evening free from the noise of car engines and screeching tyres,” the spokesperson added.
“One vehicle was seized for having no insurance and five were dealt with for traffic offences such as going through red lights, having illegal registration plates and defective tyres and lights.
“We will continue to patrol these areas and motorists thinking of attending to drive in an anti-social manner are warned to stay away.”
