Some of the steps planned for the new Friarsgate development will be replaced by ramps.
Development Securities, the company behind the long-awaited city centre scheme, are currently revising some details of the plans.
As well as replacing some of the stone rendering with brick, Lichfield District Council leader Mike Wilcox revealed the company were also examing some of the public spaces.
“There are some issues from the consultation about the steps going into the site, so there will be some of them replaced by ramps,” he said.
“But there will still be some steps around the public realm area near the Garrick.
“The company looking into some of the details tell us that steps are architecturally good to have and that steps and seating can make a nice feature.
“So there is still work going on in these public areas prior to the planning application going in before the end of the year.
“We’ll also have another consultation once the changes to the plans have been made.”
