Firefighters have tackled a grass fire on land in Lichfield.

The blaze began yesterday (July 1) in scrubland next to Sainte Foy Avenue.
Eyewitnesses said residents had originally attempted to put out the flames – believed to have been started by children playing in the area – by running hoses across the road and carrying buckets, but a number of fire crews were needed as the blaze grew in size.
Firefighters remained on scene for several hours to dampen down.
