A NEW online resource has been launched to help residents keep their homes safe.

Lichfield District Council and the Community Safety Partnership have launched the Home Theft Prevention Hub.

Residents can get advice on door and window security, smart tech, property marking and lighting to help deter thieves.

To celebrate the launch, the council is also running a free giveaway where residents can win home security items including anti-snap locks for the home, a home security system and installation, a video doorbell and camera, patio door alarms, door handle alarms and ring doorbells.

Cllr Richard Cox, cabinet member for community engagement and chair of the Lichfield District Community Safety Partnership, said:

“Home theft can have a devastating emotional and financial impact – and prevention is key.

“This new hub provides residents with clear, practical advice to help reduce the risk of burglary and protect what matters most.

“Whether you’re looking to boost your home security or just need some quick safety tips, the hub is a great place to start.”

The Home Theft Prevention Hub competition closes on 14th August. For more details and to access the resources visit www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/protectyourhome.
