DRIVERS are facing lengthy delays due to roadworks in Lichfield.
Temporary traffic lights near Trent Valley have seen lengthy tailbacks this morning (1st July).
Residents in Streethay say local roads have been gridlocked with traffic from the A38 adding to congestion.
Some drivers have reported delays of up to 50 mins to reach Trent Valley Island from the Roman Heights estate.
One resident told Lichfield Live:
"Once again, there's been no thoughts about the impact in Streethay of roadworks - they've closed the exit slip road for HS2 so there's only one way out for thousands of houses on a route that's also the main way into Lichfield off the A38.
"With all the new homes they've built here, it's crazy that there's been no requirement to improve access and alternative routes."
