The search for volunteers to help roll out future coronavirus vaccinations in Lichfield and Burntwood has begun.
Roles for carers, runners and stewards have been advertised on the DoIt volunteering website.
The role descriptions say people taking part will be asked to work in one of two shifts – 8.45am to 1.45pmn or from 1.30pm to 6.15pm.
The advert added:
“These roles involve proximity to large numbers of people from a wide geographical area. While hygiene, social distancing and PPE will be in place, it is advised that anyone in a higher risk category in relation to COVID-19 should not apply for these roles.
“In addition, both roles are anticipated to be on your feet for much of the shift. The steward role is outdoors, though there is a reception area in adverse weather.
“All roles will be expected to wear a mask while volunteering, though you will be able to have a short break from this during the shift.
“You can park at the venue, but expenses are not offered for commuting to the venue as a matter of course.”

A spokesperson added:
“Although local partners are still awaiting more detailed guidance and confirmation from the NHS nationally, we are now reaching out to individuals and voluntary organisations who may be able to assist in the community vaccination programme, so that we can be ready to go once we have the green light.
“As such, we anticipate the need for Vaccine Support Volunteers to volunteer alongside NHS staff teams at our local vaccine sites.
“These support roles will enable effective and efficient roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine and greatly support our dedicated NHS staff who are embarking upon this national challenge.
“We are looking for people with a caring and organised temperament, and there are particular practical considerations and commitments too, so please read the role description carefully before stepping forward.”
