A LOCAL advice charity is holding workshops to help local residents prepare for winter.

Citizens Advice South East Staffordshire (CASES) is running three Let's Talk Energy events in the coming weeks.

The sessions aim to help people check that they are on the correct tariff with their electricity and gas suppliers, get discounts and other support they may be entitled to such as the Warm Home Discount, and learn the best ways to save energy around the home and save on their bills.

They will be at Fradley Village Hall from 1pm to 3pm on 13th October, Bod in Streethay from 10am to midday on 14th October and Kings Bromley Village Hall between 10am and noon on 16th October.

Caseworker Tom Pratt said:

"Ofgem recently increased the price cap for this current quarter by 4% – and indications suggest that there will be an even bigger increase in the New Year.

"Every day, CASES advisers work with clients to make sure that they are prepared for the challenges the price increases will bring. We hope these sessions can reinforce that work and bring some peace of mind."

The sessions are part of the Mindset Matters project run by CASES, supported by the HS2 Community and Environment Fund.
