LOCAL families will be able to book free sessions to keep youngsters entertained over the October half-term.
Staffordshire County Council has confirmed that the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme will take place during the school break for the first time.
One funded session can be booked per child, with a meal provided for activities lasting more than two hours.
Paid-for places are also on offer for those families not eligible for free spots.
Activities on offer include crafts, sports, games and outdoor adventures.
Cllr Su Beardmore, cabinet member for children and young people at Staffordshire County Council, said:
"We're delighted to launch our first HAF programme for the October half-term holiday.
"Our summer and Easter programmes have been hugely popular, and this pilot allows us to extend that support beyond the main school holidays.
"Children can look forward to a fantastic mix of activities, from seasonal crafts and creative workshops to outdoor challenges, helping them stay active, make friends and learn new skills in a safe environment."
