Visitors to Beacon Park will be able to put their best foot forward for a new art trail.

The collection of works was created as part of the Lichfield Shoes: Walk This Way half-term art project.

Workshops saw shoppers of all ages producing footwear-inspired creations.

Now the fruits of their labour will be on show from 10am to 4pm on Saturday (March 16) in Beacon Park.

Celia Houghton, Art Development Officer for Lichfield District Council, said: “It was great to see so many people have a go at our shoe themed art activities.

“Many people stayed for hours enjoying getting immersed in creating their masterpieces. We hope plenty of people will come along to see the art trail at Beacon Park and join a guided tour.”

Among the items on display will be the clay and wire shoes, along with a photo installation of local people’s footwear.

To follow the free art trail, collect a map from the Discovery Hub next to the bowling greens in Beacon Park. A free guided tour will also set off from the Discovery Hub at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
