The popular food and craft market in Whittington will return this weekend.
The event on Saturday (April 18) will take place at the Bell Inn car park on Main Street with a spring-theme.
There will be bee-friendly plants on sale alongside local foods and crafts.
Market co-ordinator Kate Taylor-Weetman said “If you are tired of mass-produced supermarket foods often flown hundreds of miles, this friendly local food market is just the place for you.
“Everything is lovingly produced with quality local ingredients and low food miles sold in a friendly community atmosphere.”
Amongst the stalls selling locally produced food will be:
- Woodhouse Farm – pork, gammon, bacon, sausages, beef and veg
- St Giles Church – traditional preserves, including crab apple jelly and mulberry jam
- Tart!’s – quiches and pies
- Hunnypot Cottage – different kinds of breads and rolls
- Cake, Rattle and Roll – cakes and traybakes including millionaire shortbread.
entertainment will be provided by the Three Spires Morris Dancers. Young visitors can also enjoy face-painting and balloon sculpture.
The market runs on the third Saturday of every month – starting this weekend – from 9.30am to 1pm.
