People with experience of caring for loved ones are being offered the chance to put their expertise into practice with a career in care.
The St Giles Care Agency – part of Whittington-based St Giles Hospice – is looking to recruit new carers across Lichfield and the surrounding area.
As well as candidates qualified in Health and Social Care at NVQ Levels 2 and 3, they are keen to hear from those who have experience, but don’t have any formal qualifications.

Louise Savage, from St Giles Care Agency, explained: “This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who may have had to give up work to look after a loved one to get back into the world of employment, using the skills they have developed during their time as a carer.
“Those who’ve spent time caring for a loved one have a unique understanding of the benefits that care can bring to individuals who need support to remain living in their own home.
“By joining St Giles Care Agency, they can build on this experience in a professional setting, where the emphasis is on having the right attitude to care and the importance of giving quality time.
“Our carers are dedicated to helping our clients live more independently, whatever their personal care requirements, and it’s an incredibly rewarding job, with the added benefit that every penny of the profits will go to a good cause.”
Successful applicants will undergo a full in-house training programme developed using a nationally-recognised set of competencies, alongside mentorship by experienced staff with the potential for career progression.
