Procedures at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital will now be run by Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Helen Ashley, Chief Executive at Burton Hospitals, said:

“The hospital already delivers an excellent level of treatment and service to patients and from that point of view we don’t expect our patients to notice any difference.

“We are aware from staff feedback, both written and at face-to-face briefing events, that they share our passion for retaining the high levels of service and standards that are delivered in Lichfield.Their contributions are integral to the future success of the Trust.

“The NHS is undergoing a major period of change, and we have embraced this and believe that our current growth strategy is the best way forward to maximise the strengths across our various facilities. Our management team is committed to ensuring that the hospital is fully integrated within the Trust and this in turn will enable us to further develop services to benefit our patients.”
