Staffordshire Police has welcomed the introduction of the new Police National Database.
The new IT system was introduced this week and will increase the opportunity for information to be shared, accessed and searched on a national basis.
Detective Chief Inspector Jane Hewett said:
“The accessible data comes from a number of systems that then allows for a more detailed assessment of any threat or risk posed. This is a major step forward in terms of delivering a high quality policing service and keeping the people of Staffordshire safe and reassured.
“We fully recognise the benefits that this will bring to investigations conducted in the Staffordshire Police area.”
