HAMMERWICH suffered a frustrating day with the bat as they went down by six wickets at Walsall.
The Hammers lost the toss and saw Tom Wright's run out on 3 before fellow opener Imran Qadir was trapped lbw by Mohammed Ishaq after scoring 13 to leave their side on 47-2.
Scott Elstone and Andy Malkin were the next two to fall with 14 and 2 respectively, with top scorer Callum Brodrick being stumped on 39 and John Jennings being removed for 7 as the visitors slipped to 104-6.
Oliver Jennings added 13 before seeing his wicket taken to leave Hammerwich on 122-7.
Any hopes of a late rally from the tail end soon evaporated as the home side skittled through the remainder of the innings without another run being scored.
Mohammed Yousuf was the pick of the Walsall bowlers as he finished with figures of 4-47.
Hammerwich made an early breakthrough in response, as Brodrick caught Harry Sekhon off the bowling of Haider Pervaiz after scoring just 2 from 11 balls.
Hasnain Nawaz took the first of his three wickets when Malkin caught home skipper Hashim Iqbal as Walsall reached 49-2.
But despite Nawaz also dismissing William Mashinge and Kaviyan Kanji to finish with 3-30, it wasn't enough as the home side passed the total with the loss of just four wickets.
