A teenage cyclist has been airlifted to hospital with “serious injuries” after being involved in a crash with a car in Lichfield.
Ambulance crews were called to the junction of Dimbles Land and Francis Road at 12.30pm this afternoon (July 10).
A spokeswoman said: “A 16-year-old boy had been riding his BMX when he was reportedly in collision with a car.
“Upon assessment, ambulance staff found he had sustained lacerations to his face and arm, and fractures to his arm and leg.
“The teenager was taken by ambulance to the awaiting helicopter, which had landed in a nearby cricket field, before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“No one else was injured in the collision.”
