THE chair of Burntwood Town Council has hailed the local community after a civic service.
Cllr Sue Woodward brought the tradition back with political representatives and community groups attending alongside local residents at Burntwood Methodist Church.
Cllr Woodward said:
"To all of my fellow councillors from town, district and county, thanks for standing up to represent our town and for your dedication – and especially to Cllr Carolyn Gittings for the fabulous cakes.
"Thanks also to the wonderful representatives of the voluntary and community groups who do so much for the people of Burntwood for all they do to make the world and this corner of it, a better place.
"We are truly blessed to be part of this community."
