AN award has been presented to Burntwood Town Council for its achievements in operating a local cemetery.
The authority received the silver standard of the Chartered for the Bereaved by the Institute of Cemetery and Cremation Management.
The accolade honors achievements in management and service standards across the UK.
The town council's work at Burntwood Cemetery has seen it rise from the previous bronze award.
Cllr Sue Woodward, chair of Burntwood Town Council, said:
“Our cemetery is a place of remembrance, reflection and respect, and it is a privilege to see the quality and care recognised through this award.
"This is a fantastic achievement and recognises the dedication and professionalism of everyone involved in maintaining our cemetery.
"While we are proud of this award, we remain committed to continually improving our cemetery for the benefit of current and future generations."
