Tributes have been paid following the death of Lichfield City Council’s town clerk.
Christopher Moulton had held the post since 1995.
Cllr Mike Wilcox, Leader of Lichfield District Council, said he had always shown commitment to the city.
“Hearing of Christopher’s death is such sad and unexpected news,” Cllr Wilcox said. “He was a committed Town Clerk and a lovely man to work alongside, and put the interests of the city before all else.
“Christopher worked extremely hard for many years at Lichfield City Council and has shown his leadership skills when he took over as the Town Clerk in 2015.
“In that time he has overseen the civic events calendar, including the Sheriff’s Ride, the much loved Christmas Lights Switch-On and many more. He has also been hugely supportive of city partnerships including the City Centre Development Partnership and Lichfield BID.
“Christopher will be sadly missed by all who knew him, or came into contact with him. On behalf of the council, I would like to extend our sympathies to his family and friends, and to let them know we are thinking of them at this time.”
