People are being urged to help clean up an area near Lichfield.
Muckley Corner Common is set to be the venue as volunteers from Lichfield District Council’s Countryside and Parks Conservation Group (CPCG) tackle weeds and brambles on May 4, from 10.30am to 3pm.
Justine Lloyd, countryside manager, said:
“We’re looking for volunteers to join the group and help out. Our conservation events are a great way to learn new skills and meet new friends. So, grab a scythe, rake or a pair of loppers and help to us to maintain the common and increase its wildlife. If you come along, don’t forget to wear sturdy shoes and to bring some thick gardening gloves.”
No skills are needed and the volunteers will be given full training, but must be over 18 years of age. There is no need to book, just meet the group at Muckley Corner Common, off Boat Lane, at 10.30am.
