VOLUNTEERS have been thanked for helping a Lichfield event take place for almost half a century.
The Lichfield Festival of Music has praised the "passion and skill" of those who ensure it is able to take place each year.
It comes as celebrations across the country take place as part of Volunteers' Week.
The festival, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027, has more than doubled in size in the past two years making the contribution of stewards and trustees even more vital.
The 2026 event also saw long service awards presented to a number of those who give up their time.
Chair of the Lichfield Festival of Music Ken Howcroft said:
"Our festival has a reputation for being friendly, kind and fun. What can be more rewarding than celebrating people of all ages and abilities in making music and enabling them to achieve incredible things?
"We are very grateful for the continued support of our volunteers and are always looking for more to join us."
