Volunteers are being urged to help maintain local parks and green spaces across Lichfield and Burntwood.
The Countryside & Parks Conservation Group (CPCG) come together twice a month to help cut back scrub, maintain woodland, create paths and more.
The first event of 2015 will take place on February 14 and 15 at Darnford Park from 10.30am to 3pm.
The volunteers will learn about various hay meadow and woodland management techniques, take part in traditional hedge laying, maintain and replace small native trees, and make a natural bench out of a recently fallen lime tree.
The second event is on February 18 from 10.30am to 3pm at Beacon Park. The group will be involved in watercourse management by helping to maintain the Leamonsley Brook.
Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks, said: “The Countryside & Parks Conservation Group does a fantastic job in helping us to look after and improve the district’s parks and green spaces.”
