Volunteers will be digging in to help boost wildlife in a Lichfield park.
The Countryside and Parks Conservation Group (CPCG) will be putting on their wellies and improving the stream that flows through Beacon Park on Wednesday (May 1) from 10.30am to 3pm.
New members are being invited to help cut back overgrown willow and dog wood that has encroached into the stream, and remove debris that has built up over the winter months.
Chris Walsh, Lichfield District Council’s countryside manager, said: “Getting involved in voluntary work is a great way to give something back to your local community.
“Wellies are a must for this outdoor work, and wearing waterproofs and gardening clothes is recommended.”
The group will meet by the Swinfen Broun Pavilion in the middle of the park.
