Patients needing physiotherapy should face shorter waiting times in Lichfield and Burntwood as Saturday appointments become available.
The weekend opening is being introduced at the Samuel Johnson Community Hospital from this weekend.
It follows the success of seven day opening at Queen’s Hospital in Burton.are getting better more quickly thanks to a move to seven-day and evening working in the Queen’s Hospital therapy and physiotherapy department.
Michelle Young, Acting Head of Therapies and Physiotherapy at Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We will be closely monitoring the impact of introducing weekend working in therapies and physiotherapy to community hospitals and hope that it will demonstrate a positive impact on patient experience in these areas.”
