Singer and saxophonist Ray Gelato takes centre stage on the opening day of the Lichfield Festival.
Together with his six-piece band The Giants, Ray keeps alive the jump and jive music of yesteryear.
They play the Lichfield Garrick at 8pm – and if you are lucky enough to catch them then you’re in good company; Ray and The Giants have performed twice for the Queen.
But if the stage is more your thing, then worry not, because the one-man operatic thriller Johnny With Goggles is on at the Garrick Studio at 9.45pm.
The hour-long show is described as “an explosion of storytelling, singing, music and sonic wizardry”.
