WHITTINGTON endured an afternoon to forget as they lost by ten wickets at home to Cannock 2nds.
The villagers were sent in to bat first and found runs hard to come by as four players disappeared back to the pavilion without troubling the scorecard as James Adam produced a fine bowling performance, which eventually saw him finish with figures of 6-25.
Charlie Bennett offered some resistance with 26 from 54 balls, while number eight Sam Speight also dug in with a knock of 27 as Whittington limped to 91 before being bowled out.
Any hopes of a fightback with the ball were dashed inside 11 overs as openers Arslan Swan and Jamie Youll took the visitors past the target.
