A woman has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a fallen branch in Lichfield.
She was found in Whittington with a large part of a tree over her legs yesterday morning (January 28).
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The woman was discovered by a passer-by who alerted the service to the incident.
“On arrival at the scene, crews found her lying on the floor with a tree branch over her lower legs.
“The woman, believed to be in her 50’s, was treated for head, abdominal, hip and back injuries. She was also treated for hypothermia. The woman was fully immobilised at the scene and given pain relief before being airlifted to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further assessment and specialist treatment.”
