Part of Lichfield’s Beacon Park has been sealed off after the discovery of a woman’s body.
Police officers were called to the park after the body was spotted in the water in the pool at around 7.45am this morning.
People walking through the park were turned away as police cordoned off the area to allow specialist officers to carry out their work and retrieve the body from the pool.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police confirmed that officers had cordoned off the area to allow for the recovery of the body and that investigations were ongoing to discover the identity of the woman and how she came to be in the water.
