Work has begun on a new £3.5million housing project near Lichfield.
Bromford is building 22 new energy efficient homes at Levett Road in Packington.
The previous properties were demolished in August and work has now begun to create the new access road and groundworks.
Thirteen of the properties will be for “affordable rent” while eight will be for shared-ownership. The remaining house will be for outright sale.
Suzanne Shead, Bromford’s head of locality, said: “Levett Road is the first of three new Bromford regeneration schemes across Staffordshire and we expect it to bring significant benefits not just to our customers but also the wider community.
“It is wonderful to see the first major construction milestone underway with the foundations going in.
“We know the demand for affordable properties to rent is high and felt that Levett Road provided us with a fantastic opportunity to regenerate these homes and invest in the area. By incorporating shared ownership into the site as well we are also giving people who can’t necessarily afford to buy on the open market a brilliant opportunity to get on the property ladder.”
