Building work has started to create a new recreation area in Lichfield.on Sainte Foy Avenue in Lichfield.
The site at Sainte Foy Avenue is being created by Lichfield District Council and Taylor Wimpy.
With the help of £28,000 of Section 106 funding, the green space is set to include a multi use games area that can be used for football, basketball and volleyball.
Building work has also started on an outdoor gym as well as a skateboard ramp, running loop and small cycle track. As part of the work, the surrounding area will also be re-landscaped.
Councillor Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development Services, said:
“Having a recreation area will allow people to come together, helping to create a sense of community, and we are all pleased that local residents will soon have somewhere close by to play, get fit and meet up with friends.”
