Community first responders in Burntwood have been boosted by a £2,800 donation.

The money was handed over by Veolia Environmental Services and will help to keep them on the road dealing with local emergency calls.

Paul Dadge, chairman of Burntwood Community First Responders, said: “We rely entirely on donations from the public and this money will enable us to pay vehicle insurance and fuel costs into the New Year.

“We are extremely grateful for the support given to us by Veolia over the last few months without this we would have had to curb the number of hours we were able to respond in the local community.”

The group are currently raising money to replace their ageing vehicle. Anyone who can help with fundraising is asked to email join@burntwoodcfr.org.uk or call 0800 01 999 34.
