Remains believed to be those of missing Lichfield factory worker

Published:

Police believe they have found the body of a Lichfield factory worker missing since July, according to reports.

Sylwia Ciapcinska – who worked at Amethyst Logistics in Fradley Park – has not been seen alive since she was captured on CCTV during a shopping trip in Burton.

However, the Burton Mail now reports that a body found near a bridge is almost certainly that of the missing 24-year-old Polish national.

Chief Superintendent Mick Harrison from Staffordshire Police told the newspaper:

“We can confirm the remains are of a woman. While we still can’t confirm they are Sylwia’s, police are working on that basis.”

Twenty-nine-year-old Tomasz Sobczak, of Ash Street, Burton, has been charged with Sylwia’s murder. He will appear at Stafford Crown Court on October 8.
