As Lichfield and Burntwood voters prepare to go to the ballot box for the local elections on May 5, The Lichfield Blog has offered each of the candidates the chance to have their say.
We’ve sent out questionnaires to all District Council candidates and will publish their responses on the site to help you decide where to put your cross on election day. If your local candidates haven’t responded yet, why not chase them?
Name: Mark Ellis
Party: Liberal Democrats
Ward: Curborough
Occupation: Director
What has made you decide to stand for election?
I believe I can help make a difference to our local community and would like the opportunity to serve it.
What are the key issues for you in your ward?
- Youth unemployment.
- Lack of inclusion in social activities for young people.
- Affordable housing.
- Roads and pathways are generally in serious need of maintenance and repair.
If you are elected how do you plan to keep your constituents informed of what you are doing to represent them?
Generally via the Focus newsletter but also over the phone, by post and in person on occasions.
How do you feel you will be able to make a difference to your constituents?
By listening to their concerns and working to make a difference where I can.
Anything else you would like to add?
If elected I would see my role as being to respect the thoughts, beliefs and feelings of my constituents and work long and hard to make a change for
