A Lichfield mum has raised more than £1,500 for charity after completing her first half-marathon.

Alice Walsh took part in the Perkins Great Eastern Run to raise funds for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust who helped care for her ill daughter Katie.

And after completing the course in two hours and 39 seconds, Alice admits she’s delighted to have collected so much sponsorship money for a cause so close to her heart.

“My fundraising total has exceeded £1,500 – three times my initial target,” she said.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all who supported my efforts and know that every penny will go towards assisting families like mine.”
