POLICE are appealing for information after two teenagers had their bikes stolen on a canal towpath.
The male and female riders were cycling along the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal near the Hopwas Woods bridge at around 3pm on 1st April when the incident happened.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:
“The offender was a male, aged in his 20s, with a stocky build, wearing a grey Montrex tracksuit and a balaclava. He is said to have spoke with a Birmingham accent and had shown the victim what is believed to be the handle of a bladed item tucked into his waistband.
“The offender was the pillion rider on a white Husqvarna crosser-type motorbike and part of a larger group who were all on motorbikes of varying kinds.
“They were last seen heading down Lichfield Road towards Tamworth.”
The stolen bicycles were a dark blue Trek/8 and a black and yellow LIV Embolden 2.
