A GROUP supporting people living with dementia is on the lookout for new volunteers.
Dementia Caring runs weekly Time Out Club sessions, including one in Elford, as well as caregiver network meetings.
The activities offered are designed to support those with dementia and provide respite opportunities for families and carers.
Barry Coleman, founder and chair of Dementia Caring’s trustees, said the success of the group was down to the work of volunteers.
“We are a truly community-based operation, run by local people for local people.
“None of what we have achieved would have been possible without ;reless efforts of our volunteers.”
Mary McGowan said attending the Dementia Caring sessions had transformed her life:
“I’m not sure what I would have done without the Time Out Club – it has been an absolute lifeline for both my husband and me.
“In addition to engaging him in a variety of activities, it’s given me the chance to meet others in the same situation.
“The respite it provides also allows me to enjoy pursuits like yoga, which have helped me recharge.”
