Barton United edged their local derby with Burntwood Town FC.
Goals from Nathan Hunt and Ben Cleaver were enough to earn United a 2-1 win.
The result means Barton go into 2014 in fourth place – 11 off leaders Paget Rangers with two games in hand.
Burntwood, meanwhile, start the New Year in 15th place in the Midland Football Combination Division Two, with a five point cushion over bottom side Inkberrow.
