Barton United’s hopes of snatching a fifth place finish look to be fading after a midweek defeat against Sutton United.
The title chasers proved to be too tough a test for United as they went down 4-2.
The result leaves Barton sixth in the Midland Combination Second Division, eight points adrift of fifth placed Alcester Town with just three games to play.
They return to action tomorrow (May 11) at home to Enville Athletic.
