Barton United took full advantage of a slip-up by the league leaders in the Midland Combination Divsion Two.
Front-runners Paget Rangers were held to a 2-2 draw by Kenilworth Town, meaning second placed Barton’s 1-0 triumph over Perrywood closed the gap.
And with United having two games in hand over their title rivals, they will be desperate to keep the advantage when they visit Alcester Town next Saturday (December 21).
