A LOCAL construction firm says interest has been strong in a new development of £1million-plus houses near Lichfield.

Cameron Homes is building the Octara Court scheme off Bond End in Yoxall.

Once complete, the eight properties will be on the market for between £750,000 and £1.25million.

The developer said three of the homes had already been sold off-plan, with sales enquiries for the three and four bedroom houses “increasing three-fold” since the start of the year.

Guy Bebbington, managing director of Cameron Homes, said:

“Yoxall is a wonderful village for all generations, known for its vibrant, close-knit community.

“These large detached homes are ideal for growing families, as well as downsizers who don’t want to compromise on room sizes.

“While there was some caution and uncertainty in the market about buying executive homes prior to the Autumn Budget, there’s been a threefold uptake in buyer enquiries since the start of this year.

“Most of our enquiries are from people we could categorise as last time buyers, who want a low-maintenance, super stylish property to enjoy their retirement in.”

The first residents are expected to move in during the summer, with the development complete later this year.
