BURNTWOOD’S Naomi Powis picked up the victory as she overcame Nicola Knight at London’s O2 Arena.
She was competing on the bill at the Super Series Boxing event in the capital, having previously made her mark as a kickboxer.
Powis said she was delighted to pick up the win:
“It was an incredible night and I’m so grateful to every single person who came out toe support me.
“Getting the win was amazing – and a huge shoutout to my amazing coaches. I couldn’t have done it without their guidance and support.”
Powis will now turn her attention back to kickboxing in a 48kg world title clash with Italian fighter Chiara Mosetti.
The two will go head-to-head for the belt at Cannock Leisure Centre on 12th July.
