A Burntwood scout group has been given £1,000 to help them to go exploring.
The Chase Terrace-based Bert Wright Scouts were given six Garmin GPS devices worth £500 and a £500 Amazon voucher as part of the company’s community support programme and plans to use the voucher towards camping equipment.
The items were handed over during a tour of Amazon’s Rugeley fulfilment centre.
Mark Hanstock, assistant scout leader, said: “The generous donation is invaluable to our troop.
“It will mean that we will be able to enhance the scouts’ exploration experience and help them learn new navigation skills when they go on camp.”
The donation forms part of the Amazon in the Community programme whereby the company supports local projects.
Scott Wharton, general manager for the Amazon Rugeley fulfilment centre, said: “We’ve got lots of former scouts in our team and when we heard this local troop was on the lookout for some new equipment, we were happy to lend a helping hand.
“The visit was great fun for all of us and we enjoyed learning from the scouts about the activities that they take part in on a regular basis.”
